Our Spring, 2010, Write Your Life Story! workshop wraps up at The SoL Center after several weeks.   The writers crafted a rich mosaic of poignant memoirs, humorous vignettes and poetry.  We look forward to a ‘scenic retreat’ in a few days.

Next task is to select and work (layout, design, etc.) on the stories to be included in our next book.  It will feature work from the writers in the Fall, 2010 and Spring, 2010 sessions.  The books will be distributed among the writers in the Fall and Spring sessions.

The flyer highlights our next writing workshop, which begins on Wednesday, February 24, 2010 and our continuing sessions in the series of creative writing.

When Lucy invited me, in the Spring of 2009,  to facilitate a workshop on writing, our goal was to start a small group with weekly gatherings in order to reflect on and write about our personal stories.  We also wanted to publish them as a legacy for ourselves and our loved ones.   In December, we met this goal when we published our first book, A Season of Memories:  Celebration of Stories and Poems,  honoring the work of the group’s writers.  Published for distribution among the group, we hope to publish it for the larger community.
