During my recent pilgrimage to the Holy Land, we visited Qumran. The feeling of stepping on its holy sites is almost beyond words-but thankfully, inspiration has no barriers!
Sacred Spaces is a work in progress for a book and documentary featuring a landscape of nichos, chapels and places of pilgrimage and the people who are part of this tapestry. My research has taken me into the older established vecindades or neighborhoods. My friends have generously driven me to places in the Southwest that are special places of ‘healing’. So, as you see, this work involves many people; we are comunidad!
You are invited to offer your ideas or suggestions about the sacred places you have seen or visited.
You are welcome to visit my blog, which is in progress, at: http://sacredandhealing.wordpress.com

A wonderful network of friends is supporting me with a Basket Raffle to contribute to my project.
Our latest Raffle is a Tres Reyes/Three Kings Celebration Basket.
Yesterday, my friend Belza and I rode out to Poteet to visit her cousin and join in the tamalada. We were just in time to put a few finishing touches to some shucks.
On the return trip, Belza and I stopped for a moment at the inspiring outdoor capilla for Our Lady of Guadalupe at St. Peter the Fisherman. The lighted candles and other sacramentals witnessed to many sojourners before us.
I wondered what brought them here? How long did they stay? What is in their hearts?
For me, being in that most sacred space was an unexpected blessing. I gave thanks for the hospitality and new friendships formed that day.
Looking forward to our annual Lenten visits to area churches and shrines.
